Play Softball in Nordfyns Softball Club

For several years, Nordfyns Softball Club has been working in close collaboration with Nordfyns Højskole, offering softball courses to students and the opportunity to join the club as members afterward.

So far, it's mainly been Japanese students with a background in baseball who have taken part, but the offer is open to anyone with an interest in the sport – regardless of experience or nationality.

The softball season aligns with the school’s spring semester (April–June) and summer semester (August–October), which coincide with our outdoor season and competitive games. The team plays fastpitch softball in the Danish 2nd Division. It’s a mixed-gender team, meaning both women and men can participate.

Membership costs only 100 DKK per month, and the club takes care of registering you for a Danish player license. The fee includes transport to games. Many of our matches are played on weekends (Saturdays and Sundays) on Zealand, giving players a chance to see more of Denmark.

We aim to give students a real feel for Danish club culture and the strong sense of community that comes with being part of a sports association. Students are welcome to take part in all social events planned during the period.

When international students join, practices are primarily held in English, so everyone can participate fully.

The folk high school kindly provides a car for transport – otherwise, we always find a solution.

We’re excited to meet new students – and hopefully you too!

Hayato Suzuki

"One thing that really surprised me was how teammates gave high-fives even when someone didn't hit the ball.
It showed me a different side of sports - one that values support and community more than just performance.
I felt like that moment reflected the heart of Danish foreningsliv."

Takuya Murai

“I have been playing baseball in Japan for more than 15 years and was impressed by the fact that we can play so harmoniously.

Practice is fun for all members and there is no gnashing of teeth. They are playing with just the right sense of power. They gave their all to the game and when a home run was hit, the whole team welcomed it home.
This sense of togetherness may be what I was looking for.”
